Ahmet M. Oren was born in Istanbul in 1972. He studied economics at Anadolu University. Oren started his business career as the Technology Director of daily Türkiye newspaper. Oren introduced computerized publishing and production systems, propelling Türkiye to the forefront of national press. He also worked on modernizing the children’s magazine published by the group. The launching of TGRT television in 1991 was not only a notable achievement for its founding general manager Ahmet M. Oren but it also heralded the advent of private broadcasting in Turkey. Ihlas News Agency attained remarkable success and influence both in Turkey and internationally under Oren’s leadership. Also managing Ihlas group’s investments and operations in such fields as construction, marketing, health and education, Oren served as the CEO and Deputy Chairman of Ihlas between 1993-2013. He was elected as the Chairman of Ihlas Holding in 2013. Ahmet M. Oren is currently leading all the investments and operations of the group. He is a member of such prestigious organizations as the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Atlantic Council, Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey, Turkey-US Business Council and the World Economic Forum. Since 1995, Ahmet M. Oren Oren has been serving as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in the State of New York, USA.
